I  just had a new book accepted by Blushing Books! I am so excited!

This is a historical romance set in 1870 North Texas - cattle and feisty woman country here.

Here is an excerpt when she thinks her Marshal husband had stepped out on her in broad daylight.

Taming Texanna

“My dear, we are either going to the barn for a meeting with my strap, or we are going into our bedroom to talk. Either way, we will get to the real story.”

“You mean your bedroom because I’m not living here any longer with a man who openly cheats on his wife.”

“Now, Texanna. Move it now.” Colton turned his enraged wife around and pushed her ahead of himself through the kitchen, down the hall, to the bedroom in question, slapping her bottom as he propelled her onward.

Closing the door, he stood between his wife, who began fuming as she stomped throughout the room, and the door. “All right, my little hellion, what in the good Lord’s name are you thinking happened today in the café?”

Blurb:

Texanna Rae Grant, at nineteen, was not happy even though she knew men lusted after her. She was not marriage material. Her mother had left her when she was a child, her brother as a teen and now her father wanted to be rid of her.  She didn’t know why she was so unlovable, but she obviously was. That is why, when her best friend Mandy said her cousin, the marshal, had eyes for her, Texanna rolled hers. He wouldn’t be interested in her and even if he were, he wouldn’t stay. No one ever did. What a wonderful thing life would be if he were the exception.

Half-breed Marshal Colton McFadden was known all over the West for his uncanny inner sense and tracking abilities. Many of the unattached women of the quickly growing township also lusted after him, but he only had eyes for one woman, Texanna Grant. Colton’s inner vision seemed to see into her very soul that was innocent but troubled. However, he was not under any illusions that a father would allow his daughter to court him due to his mixed blood, marshal or not.

Then a hole in a storeroom chinking on laundry day, trousers, men’s undergarments, a little coercion, and a spanking changed everything. Now Mr. Grant insists on marriage; Texanna is on the run, and Colton needs to bring order back to his house and his life. First thing’s first, however. He needs to track down, marry, and take home his woman. Then he can start Taming Texanna.

  1. I bet I know someone who's going to be eating crow in a little bit. Jumping to conclusions will always end with you in hot water.

  3. Yes, she does that once too often. She seems to find herself upended rather frequently.
    Thanks Katherine

  4. Sounds like a mistake has been made, but hopefully not enough to get her that strap! Enticing excerpt!
