News From Chase Abbey

Hello and Greetings from Chase Abbey,

This new posting system is now working rather well from Chase Abbey,  so I didn't think it too extravagant to let you in on my wonderful news. Well, it isn't really news yet, but it will be.

Nathaniel may have a bride. Or soon, anyway, and I cannot tell you the loose tongues it has induced. Barrington has already had words with Caroline and I, simply for mentioning the prospect. His Grace was quiet, but Barrington has threatened to take me home if the chatter doesn't stop and he was looking at Her Grace when he said it! That was bold, even for Barrington.

Oh, what fortune, that as I was writing this missive, Barrington has ushered in Alexander. On second thought, looking at his dark countenance, it might not be a good thing. I shall continue to sit in the corner desk and listen as I write. I shan't be the one in trouble this day for I have been careful to be quite proper while my husband is in such a mood. It would not bode well for my bottom if I am too bohemian today.  Everyone knows if Barrington is in a mood, it is best to remedy the problem quickly and I have taken care to not be the problem that needs correcting. Today.

Here, I'll let you listen vicariously:

"Where is Caroline, Barrington?"

"About, I imagine. What is it that has you thundering about so?"

"That sister of yours..."

"You mean that woman of yours..."

"Yes, yes, my sweetheart, has found it necessary to not only ride my best steed, but without her sidesaddle, without her groom, and into the shops."

"Sorry, old man. I know all about those types of wifely choices. Father is going to go home in a few days, I would entice Caroline to go with him. You can attend her after we have a moment's discussion on this Nathaniel thing."

"I'm not sure I am ready for all this husbandly duty. It at first seemed such a harmless thing to engage in but now..."

"Now it appears to be quite a handful. Yes, it certainly is that. But the rewards are greater than the trials, of that I can assure you."

"That is an assurance I shall hold you to."

"Father, mother and I are invited to discuss the Nate matter this evening at dinner."

"Her Grace is taking this well, I can assume?"

"No, she is not. She is refusing to go, and His Grace is not demanding she does so. Would work better if it were just the men this time round, anyway."

"Yes, well, I have even more to add to the situation ... I say, Amelia, I didn't notice you there."

"Oh, yes, I am here. Pray, do not let me disturb you."

"Still writing that letter? I have my suspicions you are more listening than writing so why don't we go into my study, Ravens, and sit down. We won't be disturbing you then."

Well, they have gone. Sorry, I did try to be as quiet as I could, but there is nothing for it. I must say goodbye for now. I need to find Caroline before her Alexander does for she might not be sitting as pretty as she is now without some interventions of the womanly sort.

Must Go,

With all good thoughts,

Amelia Barrington

Quinlan's Quest- O'Connor Series

The next installment of the O'Connor Series -Quinlan's Trilogy -Book One

Quinlan's Quest by Alyssa Bailey, is the beginning of the love story of Quinlan O'Connor brother and his lovely lady, Cheyenne.

Quinlan'sQuest_big

Here, take a nibble...

Can Cheyenne deal with his high-handed ways and higher expectations in exchange for being his woman?

Cheyenne Sterling was partners with her father in their accounting firm when he passed away suddenly. Now, one year later, Cheyenne has a healthy business and unhealthy lifestyle that is totally out of control. One afternoon control walked in her door in the form of Quinlan O’Connor, rough, handsome, and all alpha male. She couldn't deny that he was very easy to look at, but also couldn't deny that it was proving harder than she expected to fall in line the way he demanded. Then again, Cheyenne truly loved a challenge.

Considered the toughest O’Connor sibling, Quinn is a Sheridan, Wyoming, sheriff’s deputy with peculiar tastes. His brothers have a hint of how domineering Quinn is in his relationships but none knows the depths of his lifestyle. Finding a woman who is strong enough to stand up to him when it is the right thing to do, and woman enough to submit when she should has proven to be an elusive thing for Quinn. It makes his search for a wife a monumental quest.

When doing an errand for his father, he meets spunky Cheyenne Sterling, a young woman who needs a keeper with a firm hand and loving arms.  She reveals her wilder side and risky behaviors over a pseudo-business dinner at his parents' home. The next thing he knows, he finds her in a private club he warned her to not attend. In Quinn’s world, there are consequences when a young woman disobeys him.

Will Cheyenne stay around after she experiences his consequences or will she run like the rest?

DISCLAIMER:  This book contains the spanking of adult women, elements of erotic play including anal and BDSM. If any of these offend you, please do not purchase this book.

Excerpt

Quinn pushed through the accounting firm’s outer door taking a moment to remove his sunglasses and adjust to the lighting. He strode over to the person sitting at the front desk digging in a file drawer as he automatically removed his hat.

“Ma’am, I have papers for Mr. Sterling from Emerald Isle Ranch, could you give them to him?”

The woman looked up into bright hazel eyes surrounded by darkly tanned laugh lines as she eased her chair back a bit so that she could take him in more fully.  Cheyenne Jamis Sterling, C.J. professionally, stretched out her long legs in a more relaxed manner than she actually felt. She was not a short woman herself but from her vantage point she could appreciate the height and breadth of the deputy. The creation before her was one of God’s beautiful creatures that raised her appreciation in the natural beauty and work of art that could be mankind and raised that admiration quite sharply.

Cheyenne’s cerulean blue eyes were always her proudest feature but as she gazed into brilliant and unusually vivid hazel eyes, she wondered what children with this man would be like. She could also see that he appreciated her as much as she appreciated him. He was not gorgeous in a movie star, woman swooning way but captivating in a virile, blood heating way. She was quite sure that he and men like him created and perpetuated the stereotypical persona of rugged men taming the Wild West.

Cheyenne swung her long blonde hair over her shoulder while she chose her words.

“Mr. Sterling has passed away, but I can take the papers.”

Quinn gave a shocked look and said, “They both died?”

“Excuse me? Who, both?”

“Sterling, senior and junior?”

“There is no junior, Mister…?”

“O’Connor.”

“No, you aren’t Mr. O’Connor, I know him.”

Cheyenne was beginning to be suspicious of this man, but her doubts battled with her initial thoughts of attraction and his uniform.

“Of course I am. I am just not my father, Sean. I am Quinlan. So if there is no junior, then give this to your boss when he returns.”

Cheyenne wasn’t sure whether she should laugh or be angry.

“I don’t have a boss, Mr. O’Connor but I can take the papers for your father.”

“No, I am supposed to leave them for C.J. Sterling and if he isn’t in this office, I’ll just take them back to my father.”

Cheyenne was experiencing that quickly ignited anger she usually tried to control and felt her muscles tighten with the effort in the face of the arrogance of this man.

“Don’t be such a pompous ass. I am C. J. Sterling, Cheyenne Sterling, James’ daughter. I am his accountant. I use C. J. professionally and my friends call me Cheyenne.”

Quinlan's Quest is a novella and the first story of Quinlan and Cheyenne's trilogy of love. Book 2, Accepting his Ways is a novel also out August 30th. Look for them both...

This is a taste of ME:

Alyssa Bailey is a dyed in the wool Texan living in the beauty of Southeast Alaska with her husband, her youngest four (of eleven) children, two dogs and two cats. She lives where the sky meets the mountains, the mountains meet the ocean, and the wildlife frolic on land, sea, and air. People, the ultimate interlopers, are wedged in where allowed and are properly thankful for the privilege.

Her first memory of books was when her mother read to her as a small child. She began writing as soon as she could put letters together to form words. Her first story at the age of six was about a performing horse that ran away from the circus. As she got older and read more of a variety of books, she would say, “I can do better than that” and then rewrite them in her head. She was writing fanfiction before fanfiction was a ‘thing.'

In high school and college, she won journalism and special recognition for her academic and fictional writing. Alyssa is a firm believer in all things spanking. She loves writing about domestic discipline and power exchanges between strong, intelligent women who are not afraid to make a stand and men confident enough to give them their space but Alpha enough to keep his woman safe, in spite of herself. Her characters predominately live in Regency England amongst lords and ladies, in the contemporary realm amongst men and women of the world, and all things Cowboy.

Contact her, she loves to chat, and as always, have a Spankolicious day!
